Seed to Textile 2026 – Open Call for Seeders
Curious about farming, sustainable fashion, or contemporary dance inspired by Indian culture? Become a Seeder!
Seed to Textile is CHAT’s flagship community programme. Through hands-on experiences ranging from farming to gallery practice, it introduces artists and Seeders – passionate members of the public – to the connections between nature, textiles and art.
The programme started with a special gift from Mysore, India. In 2019, artists and organic farmers Vivek and Juli Cariappa shared Indian indigo seeds with us. The gift has since taken root at CHAT, inspiring a series of co-creative workshops that explore natural resources.
This year, we have invited fashion designer Yeung Chin, choreographer Alan Wong and Indian dance artist Neesha Jhaveri to not only draw inspiration from Indian indigo, but also explore the historical ties between nature and textiles. We are looking for new Seeders to join us on this exciting journey!
