Neesha JHAVERI
Neesha Jhaveri is a Hong Kong-based choreographer, performer and teacher. For over four decades, her practice has been rooted in the Indian classical dance Kathak, which originated in North Indian temple storytelling traditions and is renowned for its mathematical precision, graceful fluidity and profound emotional depth.
Jhaveri founded the Sri Shakti Academy in 2005 to teach traditional Indian dance and has been actively involved in diverse forms of artistic production. She has performed widely in India, Africa, the US and China, including at India’s 69th, 70th and 71st Republic Day celebrations hosted by the Consulate General of India in Hong Kong (2018–2020), the Asia Ethnic Cultural Performances (2017–2019) and Harbin Ice Festival (2014). She is also a Doordarshan-graded artist and has received accolades for her artistic excellence, such as the 1995 National Scholarship from the Government of India.
