CHAT Two-Day Summer Camp: Make Your Own Superhero Cape

$960 | RSVP

10% discount for CHAT members, 15% for CHAT Patrons.

What is more powerful than a superhero cape? A cape made by the superhero themselves!

In this two-day camp, young makers will explore the plants grown for CHAT’s community programme Seed to Textile 2026 and learn how nature can inspire textile creation. Using eco-printing, dyeing and sewing techniques, participants will create a unique cape that can also be worn as an apron. Both boys and girls can be superheroes – everyone is welcome to join!

Day 1: Create your own fabric

At CHAT Studio, participants will use natural dyes to colour a piece of fabric as the base of the cape. After that, they will forage for leaves and flowers (marigolds, safflowers and indigo leaves) and use eco-printing to decorate the fabric.

Day 2: Sew your own cape

At CHAT Lab, participants will learn to cut, stitch, and use a sewing machine to turn their naturally dyed fabric into a superhero cape that can also be worn as an apron. They will then complete the look by creating a superhero mask and logo with iron-on materials and other embellishments.

*Parents can drop off and pick up their children at CHAT Reception.
