Designing Patterns with Kantha Stitching
In this workshop, participants will learn variations of the kantha stitch from West Bengal such as running, satin and chain stitch, and practice creative patterns using these techniques to develop star and spiral motifs. Participants will be guided in developing a design using the techniques learned.
-Bring along lightweight, worn, torn or stained garments to refashion together (woven fabric preferred)
-All tools (embroidery needles, thread, hoop and scissors) included
-Suitable for participants aged 8 or above; participants aged 8-12 must be supervised by an adult participant
-A discounted $600HKD registration fee for participants signing up for BOTH Repair Techniques with Kantha Stitching Workshop and Designing patterns with Kantha Stitching Workshop on 11 August.
