Curator Tour of Unconstrained Textiles: Stitching Methods, Crossing Ideas

In CHAT’s first ever online tour, Takahashi Mizuki, CHAT’s Executive Director and Chief Curator, will introduce the artworks and installations on display at CHAT’s Spring Programme 2020 exhibition, Unconstrained Textiles: Stitching Methods, Crossing Ideas.

Featuring 7 prominent contemporary artists, Unconstrained Textiles: Stitching Methods, Crossing Ideas aims to present contemporary art practices of these artists who have engaged and experimented with textile materials, concepts, subject matters and techniques, and invite visitors to reconsider their understanding and preconceptions of art and textile(s) by presenting works of wide-ranging methods and ideas. This exhibition features works by Bi Rongrong (Shanghai), Kato Izumi (Tokyo/ Hong Kong), Byron Kim (New York), Ham Kyungah (Seoul), David Medalla (Berlin), Kawita Vatanajyankur (Bangkok) and Samson Young (Hong Kong).

Weaving in and out of CHAT’s gallery space, Takahashi Mizuki will show you around CHAT and share with you her insights on the remarkable works on display.

This online tour will be conducted in English with bilingual subtitles.
