CHAT 2023 Research Grant Presentation on Cantopop Stage Wear

Join us for a presentation by Lionel Wong, recipient of CHAT 2023 Research Grant, on his research paper ‘Interwoven – A Fashion Design Story for Cantopop Stage Wear’, which offers unique perspectives on this under-studied aspect of Cantopop. The research focuses on the interwoven relationships among the creative parties involved and their methods of problem-solving for realising mesmerising yet functional stage wear for performance.

All are welcome, especially those interested in the history of Hong Kong fashion, costume and popular culture. Wong will share his research motivations, methods, case studies, analyses, conclusion and more. The presentation will be conducted in English and will end with a Q&A session.

Ticketing Arrangements on Weekends and Public Holidays

To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, CHAT will implement timed admission arrangements on weekends and public holidays until further notice.

Free Ticket distribution begins 30 minutes before each session outside CHAT Shop (G01A). Each person may collect up to 4 tickets. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Visiting sessions and ticket distribution times are as follows:

1️⃣ 11:00am – 12:45pm
Distribution starts at 10:30am

2️⃣ 1:00pm – 2:45pm
Distribution starts at 12:30pm

3️⃣ 3:00pm – 4:45pm
Distribution starts at 2:30pm

4️⃣ 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Distribution starts at 4:30pm
