Join CHAT’s Accessibility Tour, where a dynamic duo of Deaf and hearing docents takes you to explore Hong Kong’s rich textile heritage!
Using both Cantonese and Hong Kong Sign Language, our lively docents will re-enact more hidden stories of industrial cotton spinning and former Deaf workers – such as their work routines, daily commutes, and after-work activities with hearing colleagues – in this new edition. You will also learn to sign basic textile-related phrases, touch differently textured materials, and travel back in time to the heyday of Hong Kong’s manufacturing industry.
This 45-minute journey welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities. The programme has received the ICOM-CECA Best Practice Award 2025, which recognises exceptional museum education programmes globally. Join us in this meaningful celebration of inclusion and local heritage!
Group bookings are welcomed. Please submit the online booking form 30 days prior to your intended visit.
