Have you ever felt held back by insecurities or past failures? You’re not alone! Before embarking on an art career, Chan Wai Lap was once a secondary school student who struggled to find his footing. Now, he would like to help you let go of whatever is holding you back – join us for the closing event of CHAT’s summer exhibition, Weave and Shout!
Upon arrival, you will be invited to write down, anonymously, an anxiety or insecurity on a piece of paper. In exchange for your secret, Chan will give you a personal handwritten message of encouragement. This message can be exchanged for a pair of scissors, which you will use to cut the ‘hair’ of his large-scale installation Cut Cut Hair Gate, reshaping the artwork however you like while releasing bottled-up emotions.
Turn your worries and vulnerabilities into art and leave with a new perspective!
