Make a soft textile bunny to take with you on your Easter adventures!

In this two-day spring camp, our little artisans will learn to dye their own fabric with natural dyes to create a personal Easter bunny. Inspired by the special display Snuggle and Stitch: Childhood Textiles of Hong Kong, this camp invites participants to experience the journey of creating a truly unique plush friend from scratch, from dyeing to sewing.

Day 1: Experimenting with Natural Dyes
Participants will first visit the rooftop farm of The Mills to learn about natural dye plants. They will then head to CHAT Studio, where they will learn to master colour mixing and layering using plant dyes. Each coloured in a different way, these fabrics will be used to craft soft toys the following day.

Day 2: Sewing and Decorating Your Textile Toy

At CHAT Lab, participants will design and create their own Easter bunnies from hand-dyed textiles. They will stuff the basic bunny and Easter egg shapes prepared by CHAT and sew them up by hand. By adding dyed fabric pieces, trims, buttons, embroidery and iron-on decorations, each little artisan will give the plush companion a personality of its own.

*Parents can drop off and pick up their children at CHAT Reception.
Experience level: No prior experience is needed. Recommended for ages 6 to 10. As the workshop involves sewing with a needle and a machine, it is not recommended for children under 6 years old.
