CHAT Two-Day Holiday Winter Camp

$960 | RSVP

10% discount for CHAT members, 15% for CHAT Patrons.

Let your young ones make their own festive accessories and outshine everyone in the holiday season!

In this two-day winter camp, junior creatives will not only turn plants into art supplies, but also learn sewing, patchworking and felting techniques to make a scarf from textile waste. While exercising their imagination, they will discover about sustainable living and the wonders of nature.

Day 1: Making Colours out of Flowers
At the rooftop farm of The Mills, participants will be introduced to how plant pigments can be transformed into crayons, inks and dyes. This activity is inspired by CHAT’s community programme Seed to Textile 2025, in which we collaborated with Hong Kong artist Sara Tse to create naturally dyed artworks and explore the close connection between flora and people’s experiences.
– Rooftop farm tour and foraging for flowers
– Making crayons and inks using natural pigments
– Dyeing fabrics swatches for the activities on Day 2

Day 2: Creating a Scarf
At CHAT Lab, participants will learn to design, cut and sew a unique patchwork scarf, which will keep them warm throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays.
– Choosing fabrics and creating a patchwork
– Cutting and arranging fabric scraps into a collage
– Sewing by hand and with a sewing machine
– Adding embellishments using felting and heat bonding techniques

*Each participant will receive fabrics to make one 25 x 125 cm piece. They are welcome to bring a pre-loved fabric or garment to add to the patchwork.
**Parents can drop off and pick up their children at CHAT Reception.
