In CHAT’s community programme Seed to Textile 2025, Hong Kong artist Sara Tse has gathered oral histories and engaged the public in collaborative art making to unravel and reshape the entangled experiences of nature, textiles and people.
This event will begin with a guided tour of the exhibition Seed to Textile 2025: Sara Tse Open Studio, led by the artist herself and the co-curator of the exhibition, Euginia Law. Following the tour, Dr Vivian Ting and Dr Vennes Cheung will have an in-depth discussion on Tse’s artistic practice, reflecting on how diverse media are employed to represent the past and embed personal memories in the wider historical discourse. They will also explore the transformative power of nostalgia, as well as how collective narration and creative archiving play a vital role in building the Seed to Textile community.
