Morgan Wong

Morgan Wong’s artistic practice unfolds his contemplation on time. Transcending a personal perceptual approach, his concerns are expanded to aspects like social-political issues or scientific notions in temporality. His selected solo exhibitions include: Time Isn’t Our Border (Goethe Institute Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 2019), Our Feet Are Always Younger than Our Heads (Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, 2018), Mean Time (Centre A, Vancouver, 2016), The Dashes; The Laughter; The Reservoirs (Asia Art Center Taipei II, Taipei, 2016), Filing Down a Steel Bar Until a Needle is Made (Tintype Gallery, London, 2013). Wong’s work has also shown at international institutions including Media Museum ZKM (Karlsruhe), Tate Modern (London), Whitechapel Gallery (London), Seoul Museum of Art (Seoul), Gwangju Museum of Art (Gwangju), ArtScience Museum (Singapore) and Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts (Taipei). In 2019, Wong has been awarded the Asian Cultural Council New York Fellowship. Wong’s lecture performance Some Thoughts on Time Dilation (2018 – 2019) has toured to New York on this occasion after performed in Seoul, Istanbul, and Hong Kong. His work Time Needle Series has been collected by MILL6 Foundation after the exhibition “Line of Times” (2017) presented by CHAT.
