Unconstrained Textiles: Stitching Methods, Crossing Ideas

This thoughtfully designed publication catalogues the works made by the 7 contemporary artists exhibited in the CHAT Spring Programme 2020, Unconstrained Textiles: Stitching Methods, Crossing Ideas. Featured artists include Bi Rongrong, Ham Kyungah, Kato Izumi, Byron Kim, David Medalla, Kawita Vatanajyankur and Samson Young, and their works propose alternative ways of learning about textile(s) and art in the form of an open-ended patchwork. Amidst the unprecedented challenges brought on by the outbreak of COVID-19, CHAT shifted many of its programmes from the physical to the virtual world. Transcripts of artist talks (CHAT with Artist) as well as artists’ personal written responses are also included in the catalogue to document this historical moment in time.
