The Sounds of Silk/Road: An Immersive Musical Journey with Eugene Leung

Ticket $180 | RSVP

Get ready to embark on a mesmerising journey through the rich cultural heritage of Central Asia!

Local musician Eugene Leung will lead a musical expedition with the beautiful sound of dutar, tar and tanbur, muscial instruments from Central Asia. Inspired by the hybrid sedentary and nomadic origins of Central Asian culture, the performance will tour around CHAT’s Spring exhibition space and invite the audience to appreciate selected artworks with multisensory experiences. CHAT’s curator Wang Weiwei will join Leung to deliver a dialogue along the way, adding new dimension to the performance. Audience will be able to touch and feel the materials that inspired the music and the art, enriching their journey with interactive tactile experience.

Join us after-hours at CHAT and enjoy the incredible feast of music, art and textile transporting us to the vibrant and exciting culture of Central Asia.

The performance will be followed by a Meet-the-Artist session and a Q&A session.

Before the performance, CHAT’s curator Wang Weiwei will lead a curator tour for an in-depth look at the Clouds, Power and Ornament – Roving Central Asia . Click here to learn more and RSVP to the tour.
