This Mother’s Day, take a meaningful pause to reconnect through touch, creativity and hands-on making.
Korean artist Han Sang A uses textile materials to poetically explore motherhood, womanhood and the body. In this intimate workshop, you will be guided step by step as you use Han’s hand-inked textiles and your own chosen material – an old garment, a piece of fabric or a soft toy – to craft a pagoda-like sculpture, a symbol of care, protection and heartfelt wishes.
Come on your own or with family to share this gentle, creative experience. You’ll transform fabric and feelings into a tender work of art, and bring home a handmade token of love to treasure or gift.
Experience: No prior experience needed. Suitable for ages 10 and above. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Materials: Please bring a piece of personal garment, fabric or cotton-filled soft toy that you’re comfortable cutting and reusing as stuffing for the sculpture. All other tools and materials will be provided.
Language: Korean and English, with interpretation into Cantonese
