Live at CHAT: Techno Beats from Almaty and Hong Kong

Get thrust into the contemporary music scene of Almaty, Kazakhstan, in this hour-long and free-flowing performance held within the heritage spaces of CHAT. Come and go as you wish.

The techno beats of Kazakh artists Medina Bazargali and Kokonja will reverberate with those from the Hong Kong collective JVSY. This cross-cultural musical exchange is held in celebration of the opening of Clouds, Power and Ornament – Roving Central Asia , an exhibition on view at CHAT from 25 February to 21 May, 2023.

Attendees are also invited to join a Curator Tour happening prior to this event, where they will learn about the sound-based installation by Bazargali and Kokonja. For more details of the Curator Tour with limited seats, please click here.

Ticketing Arrangements on Weekends and Public Holidays

To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, CHAT will implement timed admission arrangements on weekends and public holidays until further notice.

Free Ticket distribution begins 30 minutes before each session outside CHAT Shop (G01A). Each person may collect up to 4 tickets. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Visiting sessions and ticket distribution times are as follows:

1️⃣ 11:00am – 12:45pm
Distribution starts at 10:30am

2️⃣ 1:00pm – 2:45pm
Distribution starts at 12:30pm

3️⃣ 3:00pm – 4:45pm
Distribution starts at 2:30pm

4️⃣ 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Distribution starts at 4:30pm
