Felt Like Reading

At CHAT, we love reading as much as we love making, so we have invited felting expert Vivian Hui to teach you how to make a felted cover for a favourite book or diary!

In this hands-on workshop, participants will choose from a selection of recycled fabric scraps and colourful merino wool roving, and transform them into their own felted book jacket. On top of learning about wet felting techniques, they will be experimenting with the use of prefelt and other fibres to create beautiful textures. This workshop also includes a short tour of CHAT’s reading corner CHAT Reads, introducing participants to the thoughtfully curated books and the artists behind them.

Materials Needed: All materials provided.

Experience Level:  Suitable for participants aged 8 or above. Participants aged 8 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No previous experience necessary. This workshop welcomes parents and children.

Ticketing Arrangements on Weekends and Public Holidays

To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, CHAT will implement timed admission arrangements on weekends and public holidays until further notice.

Free Ticket distribution begins 30 minutes before each session outside CHAT Shop (G01A). Each person may collect up to 4 tickets. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Visiting sessions and ticket distribution times are as follows:

1️⃣ 11:00am – 12:45pm
Distribution starts at 10:30am

2️⃣ 1:00pm – 2:45pm
Distribution starts at 12:30pm

3️⃣ 3:00pm – 4:45pm
Distribution starts at 2:30pm

4️⃣ 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Distribution starts at 4:30pm
