BUAISOU Indigo Dye Experiential Workshop
This 2-hour workshop offers participants the experience of dyeing with Japanese traditional natural indigo dye.
In this workshop, participants will learn to make beautiful patterns using resist dye techniques and try their hands at traditional Japanese methods using BUAISOU’s special indigo vat! It’s an opportunity not to be missed!
Tutor: CHAT Textile Programmes Team
Experience level: Suitable for participants aged 14 or above.
Materials needed: All materials will be provided, including ONE handkerchief to dye per participant
Techniques:
Katazome: Rice paste resist (19.11.2022, 03.12.2022, 04.02.2023)
Itajime shibori: Wood clamp resist OR Shibori: Rope resist (26.11.2022)
Itajime shibori: Wood clamp resist (04.02.2023)
Participants can decide between using the wood clamp resist or shibori rope resist technique on the day of the workshop.
