Reading as Care: Queer Reads Library at CHAT

What unexpected networks of care can arise through independent publishing and alternative modes of reading, writing and circulation of literature?

In this special display at CHAT Reads, local collective Queer Reads Library (QRL) responds to seasonal exhibition Interweaving Poetic Code  with reading materials that reflect on the central themes of care, community and inclusivity. The expansive selection from the QRL archive ranges from poetry and zines to artist sketches and news clippings in order to make important but underrepresented narratives accessible.

The display will be accompanied by a discussion led by QRL co-founders Beatrix Pang and Kaitlin Chan on their selection of reading materials and on their latest project Queer Reads Lexicon . The event will happen at 5:30-7:00pm on Sunday 13 June 2021 in CHAT Lounge. For more information, please see the related event below.
