HU Yinping

Born in Sichuan in 1983, Hu Yinping is currently based in Beijing. She defines her art as a state between ‘event’ and ‘work’, implying a deep connection between artistic practice and real life. Her projects are usually durational or even ongoing; such practices can be traced back to the three art groups she initiated after obtaining her MFA.

Hu graduated from the Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts and earned her MFA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at UCCA Dune, Qinhuangdao (2025); Ming Contemporary Art Museum, Shanghai (2022); and Arrow Factory, Beijing (2018 and 2016); and group exhibitions at G Museum, Nanjing (2025); ASE Foundation, Shanghai (2023); SONGEUN Art Space, Seoul (2023); Deji Art Museum, Nanjing (2023); A4 Art Museum, Chengdu (2022); Stiftelsen Lillehammer Museum (2022); Museum der Moderne Salzburg (2022); and GL Strand, Copenhagen (2022). Hu was also among the finalists for ANTEPRIMA x CHAT Contemporary Textile Art Prize 2024.
