Eva Volfová

Eva Volfová (born 1979, Czech Republic) is an artist and illustrator known for her distinctive embroidered illustrations. She lives and works in the Czech Republic. Her first embroidered book, Cat Born from Coffee Cream (2006), marked the beginning of her collaboration with the Czech publishing house Baobab. Her most recent book, Nitka and the Lost Button, was included in the 2024 IBBY Honour List.

In addition to her artistic work, Volfová frequently leads embroidery workshops for both children and adults. She is deeply committed to sustainability in both art and everyday life. She believes that learning to use needle and thread fosters a greater appreciation for textiles and clothing, which is why she continually explores fun and accessible ways to teach needlework.
Her work is represented in the collections of the Moravian Gallery in Brno and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.
