Born in 1973 and based in Tokyo, Aoyama has been interrogating gender roles and hierarchical value systems between manual and machine labour, craft and fine art, and is known for making meticulous embroidery pieces with old industrial-use Singer sewing machines. In his recent works, he investigates the impact brought by artificial intelligence on artistic production.
He recently exhibited at Yokohama Triennale, Japan (2017) and his work, ESCAPE from the SEA, was featured at the National Art Gallery, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2017).

Ticketing Arrangements on Weekends and Public Holidays

To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, CHAT will implement timed admission arrangements on weekends and public holidays until further notice.

Free Ticket distribution begins 30 minutes before each session outside CHAT Shop (G01A). Each person may collect up to 4 tickets. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Visiting sessions and ticket distribution times are as follows:

1️⃣ 11:00am – 12:45pm
Distribution starts at 10:30am

2️⃣ 1:00pm – 2:45pm
Distribution starts at 12:30pm

3️⃣ 3:00pm – 4:45pm
Distribution starts at 2:30pm

4️⃣ 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Distribution starts at 4:30pm
