Artefacts of ‘Blue’

This thematic display explores Indanthrene Blue, the industrial dye iconically represented by ‘Miss Happiness’ in 1930s China. It is the world’s first synthetic vat dye and is known for exceptional vibrancy. The colour resonated with the nationwide sentiment during the turbulent 1930s and 1940s, pioneering a new modern aesthetic. The consistent, standardised shade of ‘blue’ also became a staple in school uniforms and other institutional attire.

Ticketing Arrangements on Weekends and Public Holidays

To ensure a safe and pleasant experience for all, CHAT will implement timed admission arrangements on weekends and public holidays until further notice.

Free Ticket distribution begins 30 minutes before each session outside CHAT Shop (G01A). Each person may collect up to 4 tickets. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks last.

Visiting sessions and ticket distribution times are as follows:

1️⃣ 11:00am – 12:45pm
Distribution starts at 10:30am

2️⃣ 1:00pm – 2:45pm
Distribution starts at 12:30pm

3️⃣ 3:00pm – 4:45pm
Distribution starts at 2:30pm

4️⃣ 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Distribution starts at 4:30pm
