YIP Kai Chun
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Yip has been exploring the topics of cultural identity, fading heritage, under-recognised communities such through his workshops, events, sound, text and video works. Stemming from his family background, his recent works focus on Hakka culture and language, and Yip has conducted research on these topics in and outside Hong Kong. In addition to making artworks, Yip has been working as a member of organisers of The Inter-island Festival which addresses art, tradition, nature and urban and rural environment of inslands of Hong Kong including Cheung Chau, Chi Ma Wan, Mui Wo and Pen Chau.
