Make Your Own Textile Envelope Clutch with SOU・SOU Fabrics
Are you itching to create your own accessories and fascinated by the whimsical patterns of Japanese textiles? In this workshop, you will learn basic machine sewing and embellishment techniques inspired by furoshiki, the traditional Japanese method of wrapping and carrying objects with a square piece of cloth, and choose from a range of SOU・SOU fabrics to make a versatile envelope clutch or a brush roll.
Experience level: No prior experience necessary. Suitable for participants aged 8 or above. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Materials needed: All materials will be provided. CHAT will provide lightweight cotton poplin fabrics in a selection of SOU・SOU prints. The quantity of each print is limited; the prints will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
